Research Progress in Phytoextraction Technique of Cadmium Contaminated Soil

As an emerging technique for remediation of contaminated soils by cadmium,which offers benefits of being in situ,low cost and environmental sustainable,involves the repeated cropping of plants on contaminated soils until Cd concentration in the soils have reached acceptable levels.Recent progress of this technology together with its feasibility in commercial application is reviewed,and the prospects of its application in China are also analyzed.
