Geological Characteristics and Analysis of Ore-forming Conditions for Copper Deposits of Ga er-qiong in Tibet

Ga er-qiong copper deposit is located in Gangdese fold belt of the early Yanshanian.In the area,Cretaceous Yuduo Formation is the main outcropped stratigraphy which is a suit of transitional to stable shallow marine carbonate rocks with intermediate volcanic and pyroclastic construction.NW-SE extending faults are the main structures;magmatic activities are frequent and the intermediate,intermediate-acid intrusive are the main rock bodies.Ore bodies occur in the outside contact between intermediate,intermediate-acid intrusive and carbonate rocks.Alternation types include skarnization,marmarosis,solidification,etc.In this paper,we introduce the regional geological setting,ore geological features,geophysical characteristics,and discuss the ore-forming conditions from strata,structures,magmatic rocks.We find that the forming of this copper deposit has a close genetic relationship with intermediate-acid intrusive,the wall rock of limestone and marble,and the complicated tectonic of this area,and thus we include that this deposit is of skarn-type.
