STUDY ON THE PROPERTIES OF EPOXY/SiO_2 NANO-COMPOSITES

Epoxy nanocomposites was prepared by direct-blending methods. The influence of different nano-silica content on the mechanical property, heat resistance and viscosity of the epoxy nanocomposite was studied. The result shew that when the content of nano-silica was 3% , the best combined property of the epoxy nanocomposite could be achieved. The impact strength of the nanocomposites was 37.9 kJ/m2, the flexural strength was 192. 8 MPa, the flexural modulus was 4. 5 GPa, and Martens temperature was 118℃.
