DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF B-5 POLYSTYRENE ON HIGH IMPACT POLYSTYRENE DEVICE

The trial-production of high performance clear polystyrene,B-5,in industrialized high impact polystyrene device was introduced.The effects of polymerization condition and technics on the properties of polystyrene were studied.The results showed that the temperature of each polymerization reactor had different effect on properties of B-5 polystyrene.Copolymerization with methacrylate,increasing monomer conversion rate,adding 3 L/h white oil could increase impact strength of polystyrene.When adding 7% content of methacrylate,the glass transition temperature and vicat softening temperature of polystyrene were 96℃ and 99.2℃ respectively,and almost same with 685D's(glass transition temperature was 96℃,vicat softening temperature was 100℃).
