The influence of form-finding for cable net structures by self-weight

Because the capacity of the computer hardware and program developer has been greatly improved in the recent years,twonode finite element model should be replaced by the fivenode element model which is more precise for the cable structures sustaining uniform load.Therefore,by means of incremental nonlinear finite element U.L.method based on the updated total lagrangian formulation,the theory of fivenode curved finite element has been derived and nonlinear equation computation is achievedr.Formfinding for cable net structures considering self weight is carried out by a fortran program and numerical results have shown that the pressent model is of high precision by comparison with twonode element model.
