The nonlinear analysis of FEM on axial nail forces under piled bridge abutment

A Threedimensional(3D)nonlinear finiteelement analysis is used to study the behavior of soil nailing constructed under a bridge abutment built on piles in a engineering case.The tensions of nails are simulated by beam elements.The staged excavation and retaining can also be simulated For finite element method is developed for the analysis of soil nailing,the soil constitutive law is chosen to analogize the behaviors of soil during excavation.Parametric studies are applied to examine the effects of several factors on strainstress performances of soil nailing.The predicted axial nail forces are compared with those measured insitu.At last two pieces of advance are given as a conference.
