Study on the structural vulnerability under unexpected conditions

Vulnerability of system may be defined as a ratio of the probability of failure of the disturbed system to the probability of failure of the undisturbed system under a specified disturbance. Collapse of World Trade Center raises extensive attention about vulnerability of structures. In the present paper the Structural Collapse Analysis Program is adopted to analyze the importance of structural components of Zhongnan Building at Second Spinning Factory of Tianjin. Some comments on the development of structural vulnerability in the world are also given.
