Ground penetrating radar in testing the compactness of concrete

The compactness of concrete is an important factor that affects concrete's durability and impermeability.As ground penetrating radar test is a non-destructive test and it can survey a large area in a short time,we try to apply it to test the compactness of concrete.After surveyed three concrete roads with different appearance qualities,we found there also had obvious differences in the radargrams.We also made field tests using a kind permeameter.The results are agreed with the GPR survey's.These conclusions show that GPR test is a feasible way to test the compactness of concrete.
