Nonlinear analysis for FRP—confined reinforced concrete columns under axial loads

Nonlinear analysis for the behaviors of the fiber reinforced polymer—confined reinforced concrete columns under axial loads is studied by using the large general structural analysis software ANSYS in the paper.The computing results are compared with test ones.The former can simulate the behaviors of the columns with proper numerical model.The interaction between FRP material and concrets is discussed based on the numerical results.The results indicates that the precision of model is high which provides a new method and approach to simulate the mechanic capability of reinforced concrete and has practical value.
