Exploration on computing of normal section bearing capacity of corroded RC beams

Using the ultimate equilibrium formula,basing on the analysis of abundant test data,stress of the corroded steel is computed at flexural failure of the beam,compared with its specified yield point.The result shows that reduced corroded steel area and mechanical prosperity,not the bonding prosperity,are the prime reasons for the falling of normal section bearing capacity;tension reinforcement can reach the specified yield point at good beam anchor and not too large corrosion ratio;then the bearing capacity computing formula in the form of applicable code can be used for the assessment of normal section bearing capacity of corroded RC beams.
