Effects of damping modes on the seismic response of storey-adding structure of light-weight steel

The damping ratio of steel structures and RC structures are different,and the storey-adding structure of light-weight steel has non-proportional damping characteristics.Combining with an example of project,the paper do some research on the influence of different damping modes on the seismic response of storey-adding structure of light-weight steel by using three different calculation methods,which are constant damping,rayleigh damping and modal strain energy damping.The results can be used as the seismic design of storey-adding structure of light-weight steel for reference.
