Comparative study on earthquake behavior of concrete filled steel tubular multi-story composite frame structures

Steel and concrete composite structures combine the advantages of the two materials.With excellent seismic behavior,they are widely used in high-rise buildings.At present,concrete filled steel tubular(CFST) composite frame is one of the mostly used structure modes.To investigate its seismic behavior,time-history analysis is used in this paper to calculate earthquake response of 5-story reinforced concrete frame structures and CFST frame structures separately.Earthquake responses of the CFST and reinforced concrete are also compared in this paper.The results show that CFST frame has better seismic behavior than RC frame.
