FEM analysis of mechanical behavior of concrete square columns confined with CFRP under axial loading

The whole process of the CFRP-confined concrete square columns under axial loading was simulated and analyzed by using the FEM method through the ANSYS program.Based on the calculation results of ANSYS,the strain-stress analysis were carried out.The results indicated that the numerical results agree well with the test results.The FEM analysis can accurately simulate the behavior of the concrete square columns confined with CFRP.The ultimate strength and strain of CFRP confined concrete increase with the increase of CFRP layers.The confinement effect of CFRP on concrete has obviously improved.The results can be used as a reference for simulating the mechanic capability of reinforced concrete.
