Energy dissipation and vibration reduction of the nonsymmetric two-tower-connected structure with viscous fluid dampers

PANG Yingbo(Guangxi Economic Management Cadre College,Nanning 530007,China)  
The viscous fluid dampers are used at the location of the connecting part to dissipate energy and reduce the vibration of the non-symmetric two-tower-connected structure.The damping coefficient and installation position of the dampers are optimized to calculate the time-history analysis of the structure.The results show that the structural vibration energy can be dissipated and the vibration response induced by earthquake can be reduced efficiently by selecting appropriate locations and applying optimal damping coefficient.
