Functionalism and LU Xun's Translation Theory

Skopostheory is the most important theory of the functional school of translation studies,which appeared in Germany in the 1970s.According to functionalism,translation is a cross-cultural communication with certain purposes.A translator always chooses translation methods or strategies purposefully based on the intended purpose or function of the version.This paper aims to reappraise LU Xun's translation theory from the angle of functionalism.
