Identification and investigation on resistance to virus diseases of both maize commercial varieties and germplasm at seedling stage

The resistance to maize dwarf mosaic virus of 38 maize commercial hybrids and 18 maize self-bred lines had been identified by inoculating the virus at seedling stage, and the natural infection to maize dwarf mosaic virus and maize rough dwarf virus of 438 materials of maize germplasm had also been investigated in the field The result showed that 14 hybrids and 6 self-bred lines had high resistance to maize dwarf mosaic virus, with 36 84% and 31 58% of the tested varieties respectively There were lots of resistant materials among the maize germplasm, over 70% resistant to maize dwarf mosaic virus or maize rough dwarf virus
