Study on physiological basis for high yield of wheat Jimai 19 with high grain-leaf ratio Ⅰ.Dynamics of population development and accumulation of dry matter

The population development and dry matter accumulation of Jimai 19 and Lumai 14 with different grain-leaf ratio has been studied The results showed that the population of Jimai 19 with higher grain-leaf ratio has good physiological characters for grain weight and yield, such as few invalid tillers, higher ratio of fertile tillers, longer period of green leaf area and its function, richer dry matter accumulation, higher grain filling rate and longer grain filling period, quicker increasing of grain weight These showed the better coordination among source, sink and transportation Therefore, the variety with higher grain-leaf ratio should be selected during wheat breeding for plant-type
