Variant germplasm obtained by pollen tube pathway technique and SSR analysis

WANG Fu-rong,ZHANG Chuan-yun,LIU Guo-dong,LIU Ren-zhong,LIU Qin-hong,ZHANG Jun(Cotton Reseach Center,Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Jinan 250100,China)  
The genomic DNA of island cotton(Gossypium barbadense L.cv.Hai7124) was introduced into the upland cotton(G.hirsutum L.cv.Shiyuan321) by pollen tube pathway technique.New germplasm of high-quality fiber and a mutant with obvious change of morphology were obtained.The result of SSR(simple sequence repeats) analysis indicated that exogenous DNA fragments were integrated into the genome of upland cotton Shiyuan321.It is supposed that some of the DNA fragments were integrated by homologous recombination mechanism.
