Dynamic Changes of Respiration in Roots and Leaves of Cucumber Seedlings under Nitrate Stress

In this paper,the dynamic changes of respiration in roots and leaves of cucumber seedlings under three nitrate concentration levels,14 mmol/L(CK),56 mmol/L(T-1) and 140 mmol/L(T-2),were studied by hydroponic culture.The results showed that respiration in roots and leaves of cucumber seedlings under T-1 nitrate concentration had little difference compared with CK during treatment period except insignificant increase of leaves on the first day after treatment.Under T-2 nitrate concentration,the respiration increased significantly at the beginning,and then decreased;moreover,the respiration of leaves decreased more significantly than that of roots.
