Effects of Different Substrates on Fruit Quality and Nutrient Content of Muskmelon

In this paper,muskmelon was used to study the effects of three different subtracts on fruit quality and nutrient content.The results showed that the muskmelon grown in combination of peat and vermiculite had the best growth vigor,the larger stem diameter,the most leaves and also the maximum quantity of N in plant organs.Muskmelon grown in combination of peat and slay demonstrated the highest chlorophyll,VC,soluble sugar contents as well as P and K contents in plant organs.The root activity of muskmelon grown in combination of peat and sand was the highest,but the growth condition,fruit quality and nutrient content were worse than those of muskmelon grown in other subtracts.
