Effects of Controlled-release Fertilizer on Welsh Onion Seedlings

In order to study the feasibility of controlled-release fertilizer(CRF,21-6-15) produced by the Kingenta Corporation on seedling culture of Welsh onion and its optimum application amount,the pot experiment was carried out.And the fertilizer efficiency of CRF and common compound fertilizer(CCF) were compared;the effects of different treatments on plant height,stem diameter,Chlorophyll,soluble sugar and the total nitrogen,potassium and phosphorus were also analyzed.The results showed that the nutrient released from CRF could meet the nutrient requirement of seedlings.Compared with the CCF treatments,the CRF treatments increased the available nutrient contents of the soil,the quality and yield of Welsh onion seedlings and the fertilizer utilization ratio which arriving at 40%~50%.The application of 10 g CRF in the pot with the height of 25 cm and the diameter of 30 cm had the best effect.
