Analysis on Combining Ability and Heritability of New Wheat Lines

In order to analyze the combining ability and heritability of 9 trails of 8 new wheat lines,an 8×6 incomplete diallel cross was made.The results showed that the plant height,spike length and internode length below spike were controlled by both additive genes and non-additive genes,but the additive effect was predominant,while the number of fertile spikelets per spike,the number of total spikelets per spike,the number of kernels per spike,the panicles per hill,the grain weight per plant and 100-grain weight were mainly controlled by non-additive genes.The result of heritability evaluation showed that the broad heritability and narrow heritability of plant height,length of spike and internode length below spike were both larger,so they could be selected from the early generations.
