Red Edge Characteristics and Hyperspectral Estimation Model for Leaf Area Index of Peanut(Arachis hypogaea L.)

The plot experiment with 5 nitrogen levels was carried out with the big peanut variety Fenghua 1 as the material.The spectral reflectance of peanut canopy and the leaf area index at different development were determined synchronously.Then the red edge parameters were obtained from the data of canopy spectral reflectance,and their variation law and correlation with the peanut leaf area index were analyzed.The estimation results indicated that the first-order differential spectrum of canopy red edge showed double peaks,and the position of red edge was between 707 nm and 724 nm.The phenomenon of red edge platform appeared during the vigorous growth period of peanut,while blue shift appeared obviously after the pod-bearing stage.There was significant correlation between the leaf area index and the red edge parameters from the pod-bearing stage to the initial pod-filling stage,while not significant during the anthesis.So the red edge parameters could be used to estimate the leaf area index from the pod-bearing stage to the initial pod-filling stage.At last,the estimation model for the peanut leaf area index from the pod-bearing stage to the pod-filling stage,and also the whole growth period,were constructed.
