Changes of Photosynthetic Pigment Content at Full-bloom stage in Dahlia Cultivars

Twelve fine dahlia cultivars at home and abroad were used to study the changes of photosynthetic pigment content in leaves at the full-bloom stage.The results indicated that the change trends of chlorophyll and carotenoid contents in leaves at the full-bloom stage were different in dahlia cultivars.The change trends of chlorophyll a content in Swinton,Xiangyata,Holly and Serbia showed a double-peak curve with the increasing of days,so did those of chlorophyll b content in Swinton and Liangjian and those of carotenoid content in Swinton,Xiangyata,Holly,Serbia,Liangjian and Polaris.Those of chlorophyll a,b contents in Polaris and those of chlorophyll a,b and carotenoid contents in other cultivars showed a single-peak curve.The ratio of chlorophyll a to b in different dahlia cultivars showed different change trends with the increasing of days.
