Study on the Techniques to Control Helicoverpa armigera of Bt Transgenic Cotton

Wang Liuming,Zhou Yu,Zhang Xuekun,Wang Shengli & Zhang Chuanyun(Shandong Cotton Research Center,Jinan 250100)  
From 1995 to 1997,the study on the resistance to Helicoverpa armigera of Bt transgenic cotton and the control techniques showed that Bt transgenic cotton has very high inherent resistance to cotton bollworm,the lethal ratio to bollworm neonate is above 90%,having serious influence to larvas development.The influence declines as the bollworm develops.Without any chemical control during the second or third generation of cotton bollworm when outbreak,the lint yield of the Bt transgenic cotton will significantly decrease.The proper index and techniques to control cotton bollworm were suggested.
