Study on quantitative analysis method of free nicotine in tobacco by aqueous extraction system

DU Shan,WU Yin-chu,YAO Zhong-da(Technology Center,Hefei Cigarette Factory,Hefei 230081,China)  
The recovery of free nicotine determined is lower by adding standard sample in tobacco background.The influence of adding ways of standard sample and pH value of tobacco itself on the recovery were studied and the reason of low recovery was analyzed.The results suggested that the tobacco aqueous solution was a kind of acidic buffering system,standard sample of nicotine would transform from free status to combined status,which resulted in the lower recovery.
