Study on the interaction between alizarin red S and chitosan by fluorescence method

GAO Gui-zhen,LIU Xiao-yang(Biochemistry Analysis Laboratory,Suzhou College,Suzhou 234000,China)  
The binding interaction between alizarin red S(ARS) and chitosan(CTS) has been studied by fluorescence and absorption spectra.The results showed that the quenching mechanism was a static quenching procedure(Kq=2.958 1×1011 L·mol-1·s-1) and the energy transfer mechanism was a nonradiative procedure.The equilibrium constant(KA=3.26×103) and number of binding sites(n=102) were obtained.
