Isolation,Purification and Some Properties of Polysaccharides from Asparagus Cochinchinensis

The rough polysaccharide was extracted with cold water from tradition Chinese medicineAsparagus Cochinchinensis,and three polysaccharides,PA-W, PA-I and PA-Ⅱ with Mws 1.58×106, 2. 19×106and 2. 19×106respectively,were isolated by deproteination, acetone fractionation and column chromatography. They all contain glucose, mannose and galactosee, but the rstios are different. In addition, PA-Ⅱcontains a kind of unidentified glycouronic acid,Periodate oxidation, Smith degradation and spectra of IR and 13C NMR reveal PA-Ⅱ owns αand β configurations, and has 1→4 and 1→6 linkages in the ratio of 5～6: 1.
