STUDY ON PROPERTIES OF THE JIANGNAN AND ZHOUWANG FAULTS THROUGH CHARACTERISTIC ANALYSIS OF THEIR GRAVITY AND MAGNETIC FIELDS

The Jiangnan fault and Zhouwang fault are rather important faults in the Yangtze platform in South Anhui, but their properties and cutting depth have long been in dispute. Based on the anomaly characteristics summerized from the latest gravity and magnetic data, some new views are presented in this paper: the Jiangnan fault is only a long-extended major basement fault;the Zhouwang fault is a buried crustal even supercrustal fault and may have more important significance in the tectonic division and geological research of the South Anhui region.
