THE PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE DEFORMATION MECHANISM OF WEAK INTERBEDS IN COAL MINE’S TUNNELS

By means of field observation of interbeds in many coal mine's tunnels of Huaibei and lab tests, this study indicates that theengineering properties of interbeds are shown as small thickness, obvious zonation and low strength and their varying mineral compositions donot make a great difference in the damages to the engineering of tunnels. The deformation of the interbeds is closely concemed with theirengineering properties, groundwater activities and the change of crust stress state. The weak interbeds are to the disadvantage of the rockbolting shotcrete support.
