STUDY ON THERMOLUMINSCENCE OF QUARTZ IN THE GOLD DEPOSIT AT ZHILINGTOU, ZHEJIANG PROVINCE

CHEN Tian-hu (Department of Resources and Environment Science, Hefei University of Technology, Hefei 230009, China)  
The thermoluminscence has been tested on the quartz from the gold deposit at Zhilingtou. Zhejiang Province. The result indicates that thermoluminscence markedly varies with the genesis of quartz and its intensity relates to crystal grain size. The genetic and auriferous character of quartz is hence determined. The thermoluminscence of quartz from various metallizing phases also provides evidence that gold metallogeny is related to metamorphic hydrothermal solution other than volcanic hydrothermal solution. Actually, quartz thermoluninscnce depends on the low concentration of microelements in it due to is crystal structure. It's an effective approach to the genesis of quartz.
