LITHOSPHERIC THINNING EVENT IN THE LOWER YANGTZE CRATON AND Cu-Fe METALLOGENIC BELT IN THE MIDDLE AND LOWER YANGTZE RIVER REACHES

DENG Jin-fu, WU Zong-xu(China University of Geology, Beijing 100083, China)
After sorting out Mesozoic geological events in the lower Yangtze area the authors suggested that there existed two relatively independent orogenic movements in the Dabieshan and lower Yangtze areas during the Indosinian and Yenshanian periods, especially the Yenshanian large-scaled lithospheric thinning process in the lower Yangtze area and the relevant mineralization. Comments are also made on deep-seated ore-prospecting work.
