<TITLE>STUDY ON THE RELATION BETWEEN MICROSTRUCTURE OF EXPANSIVE SOIL AND ITS ENGINEERING PROPERTY,ANHUI

Expansive soil is widespread in Anhui Province.This paper analysed soil samples collected from some typical areas using X-ray diffraction,polarizing microscope,SEM and complete chemical analysis,obtained relevant parameters of soil samples,studied microstructure of expansive soil and concluded the relation of the microstructure and its engineering property.Qualitative study of the microstructure provides required data for engineering construction in the province and also lays a basis for further quantitative study.
