ON THE PETROCHEMISTRY AND EMPLACEMENT MECHANISM OF THE JINJIZHAI GRANITE INTRUSION,DABIE MTS

The Jinjizhai granite intrusion lies in eastern end of the Dabie collisional orogen and closely adjacent to the Tan-Lu Fault.The intrusion is composed of alkalifeldspar quartz syenite and alkalifeldspar granite that consist of alkalifeldspar, quartz, plagioclase, hornblende, biotite, magnetite and accessary sphene and apatite.The two rocks have different contents of the above minerals and also show differences in petrochemistry:(1) The average contents (wt%) of invariable elements of alkalifeldspar quartz syenite are 67.11% for SiO 2,17% for Al 2O 3 and 10.97% for Na 2O+K 2O with K 2ONa 2O.The trace and rare earth elements are relatively abundant,and high field strength elements, LREE and LREE/HPEE are more than those in alkalifeldspar granite; (2) The average contents (wt%) of invariable elements of alkalifeldspar granite are 75.13% for SiO 2,13% for Al 2O 3 and 8.23% for Na 2O+K 2O with K 2ONa 2O. Trace and rare earth elements are comparatively high, and large-ion lithophile elements and HREE are more than those in alkalifeldspar quartz syenite.It is suggested by means of field survey, petrochemistry and research into invariable, trace and rare earth elements that the two types of rocks are resulted from different evolving stages of the same magma as postorogenic A-type granites which have been subjected to partial melting and fractional differentiation and whose source rock may be derived from the northern Dabieshanian metacomplex.The emplacement of the Jinjizhai intrusion is greatly related to the Longjingguan Fault in a “semiballoon”mechanism.
