Hydrothermal Synthesis of Ni-Al Hydrotalcite Utilizing Urea Hydrolysis

Ni-Al hydrotalcite was synthesized by a hydrothermal method utilizing urea hydrolysis with n(Ni2+):n(Al3+):n(urea)=2∶1∶10 and 3∶1∶10. The synthesized Ni-Al hydrotalcite samples were characterized by XRD,SEM and TG. The results show that hydrotalcite was well crystallized and has a homogeneous and regular sheet. Increasing treatment temperature and time can improve the hydrotalcite crystallinity and monodisperse particles.
