The foundations' theory and methods in studying the machining residual stress

The machining distortion by cutting is a key problem in the AUTO-machining field. The complicacy of milling process and multi-factors for distortion make it difficult to give a precise explanation. This paper, based on the correlative study, uses FEM technology to analyze and calculate the imbalance Residual Stress field which cause the distortion. The studying method and result are given. Then the scientific means is offered for restraining the distortion.
