Technological optimication on extraction of lycopene from watermelon

The effect of different factors on the extraction of lycopene from watermelon was studied.The experiments were designed to optimize the extracting conditions.The research results show that when using isopropyl alcohol to dehydrate the raw material the proper proportion is 1∶2.Acetone-chloroform is the best extracting solvent and the best technology conditions are:ratio 1∶4,temperature 35 ℃ and extracting period of time 60 minutes.
