Morphology control and characterization of nanocrystalline (CeO_2)_(0.86)(Sm_2O_3)_(0.14)

Nanocrystalline(CeO2)0.86(Sm2O3)0.14 was prepared by means of coprecipitation with cerium nitrate as the starting salts,doping Sm2O3,ammonium carbonate as the precipitator and citric acid as the complexing agent and dispersant.Calcined powders was characterized using TEM and XRD.The results indicated that the morphology of calcined powders changed from nanowires to spherical particles with the increase of citric acid;the as-prepared(CeO2)0.86(Sm2O3)0.14 had the cubic crystal structure of fluorite,and the crystalline degree of samples increased with the roasting temperature.
