Research of intrinsic viscosity deviation of chitosan analyzing by one-point method

The intrinsic viscosity of chitosan with 98% degree of deacetylation has been determined by routine extrapolation method under conditions of 25 ℃,0.1 mol/LCH3COONa-0.2 mol/LCH3COOH as solvent.Three different one-point empirical equations were used to analyze the deviation of the intrinsic viscosity of chitosan,then a comparative analysis was made.The results show that the deviation between the intrinsic viscosity of chitosan with 98% degree of deacetylation calculated by the one-point empirical equation [η]=(ηsp+3ln ηr)/4C is the smallest of all,so this empirical equation is suitable for highly accurate determing of the intrinsic viscosity of chitosan with 98% degree of deacetylation.
