Application of simulated annealing genetic algorithm in reactive power optimization of power system

The reactive Power optimization is an efficient method to guarantee the system's security and economical running.This paper conquers the defects of slow convergence rate and easily being precocious of simple genetic algorithm and simulated annealing algorithms,and links up the characters of reactive power optimization of power system.A more effective method-the simulated annealing genetic algorithm is put forward based on simple genetic algorithm.The proposed approach is applied to the IEEE-14 bus system.The simulation results show that the simulated annealing genetic algorithm is reasonable and feasible.
