RESEARCH ON CONSTITUTIVE EQUATIONS FOR HOT WORKING OF METALS

Significant advances in the finite element modeling technologies have led to wider and wider application to hot forging processes. Constitutive equations are the basic information to describe high temperature deformation process, which is necessary material model for the finite element simulation, It describes the dependence of flow stress on strain, strain rate and temperature. To determine constitutive equations, it is necessary to measure the flow stress over range of strain rates a temperature, This is often done by compression tests. The vaeadity of the results of finite element method depends on the accuracy of constitutive equations, so to acquire accurate constitutive equations becomes the key to finite element simulation of hot forging processes.
