A Fuzzy Assessment Method of Surrounding Rock Stability Based on Rough Set Theory

The stability of surrounding rock is affected by many factors,and the failure mechanism is complex.Therefore,more and more concerns are given by the engineers.In this paper a fuzzy assessment method of surrounding rock stability based on rough set theory is discussed.The evaluated indexes are selected by use of knowledge reduction method of rough set theory.The method using a concept of information quantity is also introduced to determinate index weight.The results from the practical example show that this proposed method used to evaluate the surround rock stability is effective and reliable,and easy to operate.
