The Inspection and Analysis of an Unusual Concrete Disease

Zou Daojin (The Second Supervision & Inspection Station of Anhui Province for Engineering Quality, Hefei 230001, China)  
The investigation, inspection and analysis of an unusual concrete disease in a building show that the blistering, splitting and flaking off the concrete were not caused by alkali-aggregate reaction or the unsoundness of cement but by careless admixing of hard-burnt CaO into concrete. The study made in the paper is of referential value for the inspection, analysis and treatment of similar concrete disease.
