Effects of Different Collecting Times and Different Temperature Treatments on Egg Hatchabilities of Dastarcus helophoroides

In order to clarify the effects of different collecting times and different temperature treatments on egg hatchabilities of Dastarcus helophoroides(Coleoptera:Bothrideridae),collecting times of the eggs were set with 1-day,3-day and 5-day intervals respectively,with or without 15℃ buffering treatments before and after the preservation of the eggs at 8℃.4 types of temperature treatment were set with 12 treatment combinations to study their hatchabilities.The results showed that:For the 4 types of temperature treatment,the hatchability of the eggs with 5-day-interval collecting time was significantly higher than that of the eggs with 1-day and 3-day-interval collecting times,or no significant differences.There were no significant differences between hatchabilities of the eggs with or without 15℃ buffering treatments before and after their preservation at 8℃,including collecting times with 1-day,3-day and 5-day intervals.From the results of the study and for the convenience and operability in real production process of D.helophoroides egg cards,the eggs could be collected with 5-day intervals,whose average hatchability could reach 97.77% at the most,and the corrected hatchability could be 82.73%.Specific test requirements may or may not require the 15℃ buffering treatments before and after the preservation of the eggs at 8℃.
