Research on the Growth Pattern of Broadleaved Forests of Quercus in Qingyang County of Anhui Province

In this paper,based on the analysis of the 46-year-old model stems,an optimal mathematical model of the tree height,DBH and volume was established to analyze the growth pattern of Quercus,by regression analysis with DPS statistic software and fitting of Quercus with 7 theoretical equations including Logistic,Richards,Compertz,Mitscherlich,Gauss,Log-modified and Density and the quadratic curve.The results showed that of the growth models established,the best fitting effects and highest accuracies were achieved with the Richards equation.The Richards equation was chosen to be the growth model for the height,DBH and volumes with and without the bark of Quercus.The mean annual height increment of Quercus reached a maximum in the 20th year,and the maximum current annual height increment appeared in the 14th year.The mean annual height increment and current annual height increment were equal in the 20th year.The DBH current annual increment curve and mean annual increment curve met in the 24th year.The annual volume increment was small until the 14th year,and the mean annual volume increment didn't reach a maximum in the 46 years.The current annual volume increment curve and mean annual volume increment curve didn't meet in the 46 years,indicating that the forest of Quercus didn't reach its mature age.In this paper the growth pattern of the natural forests of Quercus in Qingyang County of Anhui Province was discussed,which could provide reference for rational utilization and cultivation of forests of Quercus.
