Studies on Physiological and economical Characteristics of Rice under Dry Cultivation

HUANG Wenjiang (Anhui Agricultural University, Hefei 230036)  
The experimental results indicated that the transpiration rate (Tr) was arranged in the following order: plastic film coveringuncoveringpaddy field, but the water utilization efficiency (WUE),chlorophyll content, leaf specific gravity and respiration rate were arranged in the following order: paddy fielduncoveringplastic film covering. The drought resistance was unlike in different rice developmental stage.The rice is sensitive to water in ear pregnant stage and ear sprounting period.Under dry cultivation the tillering ablility, number of tillers and effective ears were increased, but the number of grains per ear ,grain-setting rate and 1000 grain weight were decreased. The results also indicated that there was no significant difference between plastic film covering and paddy field to yield. but there were significant difference between plastic film covering and uncovering, paddy field and uncovering.
