Comparison of Cu and Cd Accumulation Among Six Wheat Cultivars

A hydroponic experiment with 2.5 μM Cu and 5 μM Cd was conducted to investigate the difference of their bioaccumulation among six wheat cultivars(Tritium aestivum L.).The results are as follows,compared with the wheat grown with eutrophy,shoot and root weight of the treatment all decreased,but the biomass of both Linmai No.2 and Ningmai No.8 were higher than others.The Cu and Cd content in shoot of Linmai No.2 was the lowest and the second lowest respectively.The Cu and Cd content in shoot of Ningmai No.8 was the highest.The Cu and Cd accumulation in shoot of Linmai No.2 was the lowest and the second lowest.The Cu and Cd accumulation in shoot of Ningmai No.8 was the second highest and the highest respectively.The Cu and Cd of shoot/root ratio showed the same trend as the Cu and Cd content and accumulation in shoot.From the results above,a conclusion was drawn that Linmai No.2 was a low accumulation cultivar and Ningmai No.8 was a high accumulation cultivar among the tested six wheat cultivars.
