Current Research Progress of Plant Marker free Transgenic Technology

Ni Bin(College of Life Science Nanjing Agricultural University Nanjing Jiangsu 210095)  
In recent years,selective marker genes have been commonly used to select transformed cells or tissue during gene transfer,which has brought great convenience to transgenic researchers.However,the expression of these genes can do great harm to the environment as well as the development of plants.What's more,it can hardly be possible for us to do multi-transformation with the same marker gene.Thus,a new stragtegy that offers an approach for the elimination of those disadvantages caused by the selective marker gene is of great importance to the researchers.This review summarized several methods to remove corelative marker genes and gave a prospect of their development.
