Effect of Ratios Between NH_4~+-N and NO_3~--N on the Nitrate Content and Quality of Chinese Cabbages

Chinese cabbages were hydroponically cultured with four different ratios between NO-3-N and NH+4-N,i.e.,10.0∶0(A),5.0∶5.0(B),2.5∶7.5(C)and 0∶10(D).The result showed that different NO-3-N/NH+4-N ratios had a great effect on the nitrate content and quality of Chinese cabbages.In the same nitrogen source,the difference was also significant among the different cultivars.The chlorophyll content of the cabbages increased with the increasing NO-3-N/NH+4-N ratio.The nitrate content of Chinese cabbages decreased significantly with the increasing of NO-3-N/NH+4-N ratio,but the Vc and solubility sugar content increased.The result showed that a properNO-3-N/NH+4-N ratio could increase quality and decrease the nitrate content of Chinese cabbages.
