Temporal and spatial dynamics and sampling technique of Myzus persicae populations.

In the paper, systematic studies on the temporal and spatial dynamics and the sampling technique of Myzus persicae Sulzer population throughout the growth stages of Nicotiana tabacum L.were conducted. There were the most significant differences between M. persicae populations both on different tobacco varieties and on different dates. The K value of negative binomial distribution less affected by density was chosen to describe the spatial and temporal patterns of the populatiosn. The results showed that the populations were aggregated on three tobacco varieties throughout the growth stages, but the intensity of aggregation changed seasonally. The value of the mean individual number in aggregation was used to analyse the cause of aggregation. The characteristic of the spatial pattern of M. persicae populations was estimated to be of aggregated type and mutual atraction among individuals by the use of Taylor's and Iwao's methods.The sampling size requirement n= 1 D2 (55.93/x +5.12)and the sequential sampling model Tn=55.93/(D2-5.12/n) and n5.12/D2 were determined at a percision level .
